The Paradox of Vulnerability with Mike Robbins

I’ve spent the better part of the last decade diving deep into understanding human potential.

It’s a never-ending fascination of mine to explore how we can become the best version of ourselves. What we should be doing and what we shouldn’t. What fuels us to grow and contribute; what foils us from achieving our ultimate goals and dreams.

Reading hundreds of books, attending dozens of seminars, learning from the masters and studying those who are executing life at the highest level.

I’m often asked by clients and friends for tips, strategies or insights to help them in the pursuit of their potential.

But if there is one absolute truth (and perhaps ironic truth) about personal growth, it is that your growth is less about adding more to your life and ways of doing things…and more about stripping away the layers of misguided masks, ineffective ideas and suboptimal sense of your self-image.

As someone once said, personal growth is not additive, it’s reductive. It’s not about becoming someone you’re not. It’s getting rid of crap that’s piled up over the years that has disconnected you from who you really are and prevented you from feeling freed to be yourself.

I’m always excited to spend time with people who not only get this, but are masters at helping others become more authentically them.

Today, I’m keen to bring you a conversation with Mike Robbins.

“Being authentic in the moment is a practice.”

“You’ve got to learn to be good at the 10 minute sweaty-palm conversation”

Mike, as you’ll soon hear, is someone who brings a lot of wisdom.

From his early lessons as an elite athlete to his current work in helping leaders become better leaders, Mike cuts through the clutter and speaks the truth about how to become more authentic, courageous and frankly, honest with yourself about what you need to understand and do, on your path to your potential.

I took lots of notes during our interview and I hope you do to.

Enjoy the conversation…
